Tour Plan

Day 01: Arrival at Guwahati Airport (GAU) / Railway Station (GHY) – Transfer to Cherrapunjee

(Altitude: 4690 ft / 1430 m | Distance: 200 km | Travel Time: 5 to 7 hours approx.)

Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be greeted by our representative. Begin your journey to Cherrapunjee, en route visiting:

Umiam Lake (Barapani) – the largest manmade lake in Northeast India
Elephant Falls
Duwan Sing Syiem Viewpoint

On arrival in Cherrapunjee, check-in at your hotel. Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Note:

Early morning flight/train arrival is recommended.
Sightseeing on Day 1 is possible only for morning arrivals.

Day 02: Cherrapunjee – Local Sightseeing / Double Decker Living Root Bridge Trek

After breakfast, choose from the following options:

Option 1: Local Sightseeing
Visit major attractions such as:

Arwah Cave / Mawsmai Cave
Seven Sisters Falls
Nohkalikai Falls

Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Option 2: Double Decker Living Root Bridge Trek (Long & Tiring Day)
Embark on an adventurous trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge:

3 to 4 hours one-way walk (approx. 4 km)
Involves descending and ascending about 1000 feet
Pass through Sohsarat Village and dense forest trails
Caution during monsoon due to slippery moss-covered steps

After trekking back, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Optional:

Rainbow Waterfalls trek (additional 1-hour walk, depending on fitness level)
Local guide assistance (charges extra, refer to Supplement & Optional Cost)

Note:
Most waterfalls dry up during the winter season.

Day 03: Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong

(Long & Tiring Day)

Mawlynnong (Altitude: 4906 ft / 1496 m | 80 km | 3-4 hours approx.)
Dawki (Altitude: 5904 ft / 1800 m | 30 km | 1-2 hours approx.)
Shillong (Altitude: 5002 ft / 1525 m | 90 km | 3-4 hours approx.)

After early breakfast, proceed to Mawlynnong, recognized as the "Cleanest Village in Asia." Highlights include:

Paved walkways, flowerbeds, and a living root bridge
Sky Walk offering panoramic views of Bangladesh plains

Continue to Dawki, the gateway to Bangladesh, and visit:

Umngot River – known for its crystal-clear waters
Suspension Bridge over the river

Post exploration, drive to Shillong. Check-in and overnight stay at Shillong.

It is advisable to carry packed lunch/snacks for this day's excursion.

Day 04: Shillong Excursion – Choice of Itineraries

After breakfast, choose from the following options:

Option 1: Mawphlang Sacred Forest & Shillong Local Sightseeing

Excursion to Mawphlang Sacred Forest
Visit Elephant Falls
Local sightseeing: Don Bosco Museum (Closed on Sundays), Ward’s Lake, Lady Hydari Park, Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians

Option 2: Laitlum Canyons & Krangsuri Waterfalls

Visit Laitlum Canyons (breathtaking canyon views)
Drive to Krangsuri Waterfalls (Jowai) and enjoy its scenic beauty
Return to Shillong for overnight stay

Carry packed food/snacks during excursions for convenience.

Day 05: Shillong – Transfer to Guwahati

(Altitude: 1148 ft / 350 m | Distance: 140 km | Travel Time: 3-4 hours approx.)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Guwahati. Depending on your arrival time, you may opt for an evening cruise on the Brahmaputra River (optional, direct payment). Overnight stay at Guwahati.

Optional:

Sunset Cruise / Dinner Cruise on Brahmaputra River (Subject to operational conditions)

Day 06: Guwahati Full-Day Sightseeing – Choice of Itineraries

After breakfast, choose from the following options:

Option 1: Temple and City Tour

Visit Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple (ferry charges extra), and Navagraha Temple
Afternoon: Sankardev Kalakhetra & Pragjyotika Assam Emporium (Closed on Sundays)

Option 2: Zoo and Cultural Tour

Visit Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden (Closed on Fridays)
Visit Sankardev Kalakhetra and Pragjyotika Assam Emporium

Option 3: Excursion to Sualkuchi Village

Visit Kamakhya Temple (08:00 AM to 01:00 PM and 03:00 PM till dark)
