Embark on a deeply spiritual and cultural journey through India and Nepal with our specially curated Buddhist Circuit Tour. This 11-day itinerary traces the footsteps of Lord Buddha, covering the most sacred Buddhist sites.

Your journey begins in Varanasi, the spiritual heart of India, where you will experience the divine Ganga Aarti and a peaceful river boat ride. Explore the historical significance of Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon. Travel onward to Bodhgaya, the place of Buddha’s enlightenment, visiting the iconic Mahabodhi Temple and tranquil monasteries.

The journey continues through ancient centers of learning like Nalanda and spiritual retreats like Rajgir, before arriving at Patna, rich in Buddhist heritage. Visit the sacred relics of Vaishali, and proceed to Kushinagar, where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana.

Cross the border into Lumbini in Nepal, the birthplace of Buddha, surrounded by peaceful gardens and ancient stupas. Continue to Shravasti, an important site where Buddha spent a significant part of his monastic life.

Concluding your journey, you’ll visit the Mughal-era splendors of Agra, including the Taj Mahal, before returning to Delhi for your departure.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Delhi → Varanasi
  • Morning: Flight or train from Delhi to Varanasi.
  • Evening: Witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
  • Overnight stay at Varanasi.
Day 2: Varanasi → Sarnath → Varanasi
  • Morning: Excursion to Sarnath (visit Dhamek StupaChaukhandi StupaSarnath MuseumMulagandha Kuti Vihar).
  • Return to Varanasi; Evening River, Boat ride
  • Overnight stay at Varanasi.
Day 3: Varanasi → Bodhgaya
  • Morning: Morning Sunrise boat ride and after breakfast Drive to Bodhgaya (approx. 6 hours).
  • Relax in Bodhgaya or visit Mahabodhi Temple in the evening.
  • Overnight stay at Bodhgaya.
Day 4: Bodhgaya
  • Full-day Bodhgaya sightseeing:
    • Mahabodhi TempleBodhi TreeSujata Kutiand various international monasteries are also included.
  • Meditation session (optional).
  • Overnight stay at Bodhgaya.
Day 5: Bodhgaya → Nalanda → Rajgir → Patna
  • In the morning, drive to Nalanda (2 hours) and visit the ruins of the ancient university and the museum.
  • Visit Rajgir (Vulture’s Peak, Venuvana, Japanese Peace Pagoda).
  • Evening arrival at Patna.
Day 6: Patna → Vaishali → Kushinagar
  • Morning: Visit Vaishali (Relic Stupa, Ashoka Pillar).
  • Drive onward to Kushinagar (5 hours).
  • Overnight stay at Kushinagar.
Day 7: Kushinagar → Lumbini (Nepal)
  • Morning sightseeing at the Mahaparinirvana TempleRambhar Stupa.
  • Drive to Lumbini (4 hours, cross the India-Nepal border at Sonauli).
  • Overnight stay at Lumbini.
Day 8: Lumbini → Shravasti
  • Morning visit to Maya Devi TempleAshokan Pillar, and Sacred Garden.
  • Drive to Shravasti (approx. 5 hours).
  • Visit Jetavana MonasteryAnanda Bodhi Tree, and Angulimala Stupa.
  • Overnight stay at Shravasti.
Day 9: Shravasti → Lucknow → Agra
  • Morning drive to Lucknow (5 hours).
  • Take a train or private vehicle from Lucknow to Agra (fastest way, about 4–5 hours by train).
  • Evening arrival at Agra.
  • Overnight stay at Agra.
Day 10: Agra → Delhi
  • In the morning, visit the Taj Mahal and, optionally, Agra Fort.
  • After lunch, drive from Agra to Delhi (approx. 3.5–4 hours via Expressway).
  • Evening free in Delhi.
  • Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 11: Departure from Delhi
  • Departure from Delhi (flight/train) as per your schedule.
